Field layer is mostly woody seedlings of Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Toxicodendron radicans, and Parthenocissus quinquefolia with clumps of Cephalanthus occidentalis reporting after drought. Clumps of Carex species are scattered. Survey followed several years of drought and species composition may be altered from wetter years. Water mark on trees at lowest point is 42 cm.
Surrounding pond is successional vegetation with Juglans nigra, Acer saccharinum, Juniperus virginiana, and Symphoricarpos orbiculatus. Shallow ditch in pond may indicate drainage was attempted in the past.
